Nana's Dream

What Nana can be happier than waking up to all her grandkids jumping on her bed?
We had a great time at the ranch last weekend. Daddy was teaching Drew how to shoot a bow...
Hopefully we can make it out again before summer is over!

Stevie's Visit

On Monday, my friend Stevie came to play. He was so excited. He called my mommy early in the morning and said "Did you forget I am coming today? Because I am excited and I packed my backpack with books to read to Baby Carson". She didn't forget though.

He read me books, took me outside, played Guitar Hero for me, decorated cupcakes, watered the flowers, gave me toys to play with, showed me how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and he even pushed me in my stroller and fed me my first peas.

What a fun day I had! Then Stevie told my mommy, "You have a lot of my favorite things. You have Guitar Hero, Baby Carson, and You." That made her giggle.

Cecret Lake --this is spelled correctly

On Saturday, we went hiking with some friends to Cecret Lake up in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was not such hard work for me, I got to be up high with Daddy. A lot of the time mommy was saying "be careful" and Daddy took me on lots of adventures. Over the snow, through the water, on top of rocks. I loved it!

4th of July Vacation

I just returned from a trip to Washington. I had such a great time and was given lots and lots of love and affection! These are my cousins... the big guy is Shawn and the little guy is Xarik.

Daddy got to come over the long weekend too! I was SO happy to see him. We made some friends at the lake.

Here is me with Grandma, Grandpa and my cousins... Shawn loved playing with both me and his new little brother. He takes good care of us! How many people can you fit on a blanket?

Why My Daddy is the Best

My daddy is the best because:
He always looks excited to come home and see me after work
He puts me to bed every night
He lets me type on his keyboard (trust me this is HUGE)
He tells me he knows the world is a good place because I am in it
He sings songs about ME
He tells me so many plans of things we are going to do together
He reads me scriptures in Italian--so cool
He plays Guitar Hero and props me up so I can be his #1 Fan
He explains everything he is doing all the time so I can learn
He wants to spend all of his time with me and is always making plans so he has even more time with me
He takes me to the cabin and the ranch and hiking!
He treats mommy so great every single day!
Happy Father's Day, Daddy! You are the best!

To My Sweet Carson:

Well Sweet Boy, tomorrow you will be five months old. I can honestly tell you that these five months my heart has been so full of joy I feel like I can not even begin to put it into words.

Here you are hanging out in the sink today while I get ready. You are so curious about everything and always want to be right where the action is. My eye makeup remover is between your knees, you got so excited to be able to grab that off the counter. I love the look of pride that crosses your face when you achieve some new accomplishment.

Your dad and I marvel everyday at how eager you are to absorb everything. You are so curious and are constantly "making a dive" at whatever is nearby that sparks your interest. We can see that you are determined too. You want to sit up so badly. When we lay you on your back you will do a crunch using all of your stomach muscles until you have to lay back down from pure exhaustion. I swear you are going to have a six pack by your 1st birthday.

We must tell you a hundred times a day we love you. Your smile lights up our life. Your dad will often say, "Oh, it is a good world just knowing Carson is in it."

Some of our favorites are when we lay you down for a nap, you don't cry you just snuggle up to your blankie. Oftentimes wanting it to completely cover your face. Then you do this high pitched squeal that sounds like you are so happy...or just want our attention. You try to sing for awhile and then you are out like a light. When you wake up you make cute noises until we come in to get you...that is when your whole face breaks into a huge smile. I adore those moments.

You are already growing so fast. I know you will not be my baby forever. I am so grateful for every single moment I get to hold you and love you. I promised Heavenly Father a long long time ago...if I was ever to blessed with a child I would be be thankful every single day. I haven't backed out on that promise yet. I love you little guy.

Thank you for choosing us. We promise to do the very best to deserve to share our lives with you. You are precious and loved.

My Trip to The Zoo

I went on my first trip to the zoo with Nana, mommy and my cousins. Of course, I did not realize it was my first trip to the zoo because I slept the whole time. But, it was sure a great nap.
Andrew was excited to see the zebras. He kept trying to climb the fence to get to them. Hmmm..you would think the fences would be a little taller.

Everyone else saw alligators, zebras, bears, monkeys, penguins..even a rhino or two.

Here is me... all cozy and dreaming of other things. What a fun trip to the zoo.

Cabin Fever!

We had so much fun over Memorial Day Weekend. We went up to Grandpa Mark's cabin in Fairview. There were so many trees... it was so pretty. I had a great time! Daddy and mommy took me on a little hike and I loved it. Plus, I got to play with my cousins and got tons of attention. Something about that fresh mountain air... I took great naps and slept well there which made mommy and daddy more smiley.

Hike Preparation

We are going up to Grandpa Mark's cabin this weekend. Daddy is so excited to take me hiking that he was "practicing" carrying me around in my hiker carrier... we had a lot of fun while mommy went to mutual. I can go anywhere with daddy now.... I am a lucky boy!

Well, the rest of the outfit fits but my little pinhead doesn't quite fill up the hat. Still, I have to say I am pretty darn cute!

Stop, Drop and ROLL!

You got it! I rolled over for the first time on Friday. I was pretty impressed with myself. That is until I realized I was lying on my arms and flopping like a fish out of water after the fact. However, since then I can successfully pull my arms out and...well... and just lay there. I can't wait to figure out crawling. It will be much more exciting.

Oh and updates from my 4 month appt:
13lbs 8 oz- moved up from 11 percentile to 13th
24.5 inches- moved up from 9th percentile to 29th
Head: moved down from 4 percentile to 3rd. Just call me pinhead

Grandpa Mark

This is my Grandpa Mark. Lots of people say we look alike. He still has a lot more hair than me though and his is kinda crazy. Apparently I have his crooked smile. I hear that it is very cute.

On Sunday I had a lot of fun. It was Mother's Day so me and daddy spoiled mommy. Which is pretty much the same as everyday. Then we went and saw lots of family. First we went to Great Grandparents May and then to Great Grandparents Bennions. I was held and spoiled a lot. My great grandma May cuddled me up and rocked me to sleep...that was nice.

Flying the Friendly Skies

Meet my cousin, Shawn Jr. He was so excited to meet me in Washington. He was extremely attentive to me. In this pic, I was just laying around...he decided he wanted to hold my hand. Anything anyone asked him to do... he would say "No. Carson needs me." and want to stay and watch me and hold my hand. One time I was fussing and he came running from the other room saying "It is ok, Carson, Here I come." When Gaga (grandma) was at work and I was crying he would say "It is ok, Carson, gaga will be home soon." He definitely took good care of me. I think he will be a great big brother to his brother Xarik who will be born in just a few more weeks.

Tulip Festival

The temperature hit a whoppin' 80 degrees here today! It was so wonderful to see that the world is not always a cold place. Mom took me with some friends to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. Apparently there are over 250,000 tulips. After mom paid $10 just for her entrance fee we looked everywhere for the beautiful tulips... well, they had not bloomed yet. So, we walked around for awhile. I was very good. I know this because my mom kept telling me "you are such a good boy". Lots of other babies were crying because it was windy but I just cuddled up to mom. She made me wear my burp rag on my head because she said my bald head would burn. I did not look very cool like that. But, she didn't really understand me when I told her. I have to get this language thing down. I have a rep to protect.

My First Easter

Well, I had a great Easter! Mom got me all dressed up (I was sweating profusely in my sweater but she would not take it off.. can babies sweat?) Finally, I decided to take my opportunity. When dad was changing my diaper I peed all over my outfit! ha ha. I was quickly changed into something more comfortable and not so hot!
We went to my Great Grandpa and Grandma Bennions for Easter. My cousins ran around collecting eggs and eating lots of yummy things. I can't wait until I get to eat all those treats too! Right now it is the same old milk day in and day out.
My Gaga (grandma) is coming on Friday to visit. She calls me everyday and we have wonderful conversations on the phone.
Well, time to sign off. My favorite time of day... bathtime is coming!

2 Months Old

I am two months old now! I went to the doctor today and he was really nice at first..then, they started sticking me with needles! How mean! They coo and smile at me and then stab me when I am least expecting it.
Good news, I am up to 10lbs 9 ounces and now in the 11th percentile! I am healthy and growing fast.
